Land Rover 110 Defender Review
Land rover 110 defender is the latest iteration of the famous Defender range. Available as a three-door or four-door, short or long wheelbase variant with two or three rows of seating, it’s a real contender in the luxury off-road market.
The land rover 110 defender is available in seven standard models, plus a host of specification packs and options. The base model is the S, with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 296 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque; opt for the X-Dynamic SE and you get a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 with 518 horse power and 461 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic.
Good as New: The Art of Refurbishing Land Rover Defenders
In the interior, the Defender’s cockpit is a mixture of soft materials and deliberately exposed screws with a high-tech dash based on the 11.4-inch touchscreen and available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s a touch more refined than rivals like the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler but still hardcore enough to survive a muddy expedition.
Off-road abilities are top-notch, with air suspension and locking centre and active rear differentials mated to Terrain Response and Hill Descent. Approach angles are 38 degrees front and 40 rear (provided you’ve specced it with the air option) while wading depth is up to 900mm.
Fuel economy is good, with the base 90 rated at 18 mpg city and 21 mpg highway, while the 130 is a tad less efficient at 17 mpg city and 22 mpg highway with the four-cylinder engine and 18 mpg city and 23 mpg highway with the six-cylinder.
