Check Out The Trailer And Clip For This Excellent Independent Feature “The Ex and the Why”
Being the northern monkeys we are, we are always looking to champion great home-grown independent films, so imagine our delight when we were contacted by film-maker Jon Bradley about his feature “The Ex and the Why”.
Shot for a measly, in fact scrap measly, miniscule budget of £250 Bradley and co writer James Iles (who also stars in the film) ”The Ex and the Why” is the story of socially inept Jeff must go head-to-head with his brother’s ex-girlfriend in a desperate attempt to reclaim a borrowed Lord of the Rings DVD – the day after the breakup.
We think it’s a fantastic feat, and we can’t recommend checking the trailer out enough. Hopefully we’ll have an interview with Jon in the future to give us an insight into how it was possible to make a feature for such a small amount.
Check out the trailer below.
Also for you lucky people we’ve got a clip from the film itself
Made for £250, with one crew member, and shot in the director’s parent’s house, THE EX AND THE WHY is an offbeat comedy with an excellent cast of unknown and first-time performers. This is the story of the socially inept Jeff, and his desperate attempt to reclaim a borrowed Lord of the Rings DVD from his brother’s ex, immediately after the breakup. Unfolding in real time, Jeff must contend with the manipulative, passive-aggresive Morgan in order to save his day.
