Dumb and Dumber sequel to shoot in September
It has been almost 18 years since we last saw these two loveable idiots getting up to hilarious antics but it looks as though one of our favourite on-screen duos will be back on our screens after it was confirmed that Dumb and Dumber 2 would start shooting in September.
Co-Director Peter Farrelly revealed the details to Coming Soon with the most important mention being the returns of stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels.
“We’re getting set to shoot ‘Dumb and Dumber 2′ in September. It’s the first sequel we’ve ever done and we’ve got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back.”
The news should delight dedicated fans of the original who were left unimpressed by the critically mauled prequel Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd in 2003 which didn’t involve Carrey or Daniels.
“We did not do Dumb and Dumberer. That was a studio thing. So we’ve always wanted to do a sequel and finally Jim called up. Jeff always wanted to do it. We always wanted to do it. Jim was busy, but he called and said, ‘We’ve got to do this thing again.’ He had just watched Dumb and Dumber and he said, ‘This is the perfect sequel. Let’s do it.”
Here’s hoping that like Harry we’ll be saying; “Just when I think you couldn’t possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this…and totally redeem yourself!”
